The governmental authorities of health follow without reporting epidemic of dengue in Cuba
SANTIAGO OF CUBA, 28 of September (Guillermo Espinosa/APLO) a report of the Pan-American Organization of the Health, dated 25 of September removed surreptitiously from the Internet by a member of the Independent Medical School of Santiago of Cuba, does not indicate the presence of dengue in Cuba, while it reports the amount of cases by countries, in as near places as Republic Dominicana and Puerto Rico.
It is not to surprise this attitude of the Cuban government, since he has always been reluctant to offer information of any epidemic that makes presence in Cuba. The health personnel must outside handle to the information as if state secret.
As it shows of the censorship of the information, 27 of September were retained yesterday in the station of From Soria police of Palm, Virgilio De Lat, independent journalist of our agency, to avoid that it participated in an informative program of Channel 41, of the city of Miami, in the United States
Despite the silence of the government and the measures to eradicate the mosquito Aegipty Aedes, transmitter of the disease, the epidemic is continued expanding towards all the national territory and the cases in the province of Santiago of Cuba continue increasing here. At the moment the facilities of the Training School of Teacher have been qualified, Frank Country, in the Heights of Versailles to enter the patients affected with dengue. The school has capacity for 1200 students and it already is practically full of patients.
The measures clinical-epidemiologists are continued taking, besides the massive fumigation, track house by house the patients or people with symptoms of the disease, concentrate themselves in the medical doctor's offices and soon they move to the entrance centers.
The main cause that favors the proliferation of the mosquito, for being of domestic habitat, is the water accumulation of consumption in the houses without the best conditions, due to the deficient system of aqueduct in our city. |
