Epidemics in Santiago of Cuba are become serious

SANTIAGO OF CUBA, Cuba - 15 of August (Thorny Guillermo, APLO/www.cubanet.org) - the decease of several patients of dengue is making spread the panic in the population. In the last week it was known of the death of two young people, one of them of 18 years of age, in the Barnadas street in center of the city. Indeed downtown is the main center of cases reported with dengue. This young person had been taken care of in the hospital and register, but when arriving at his house in times of the night she began with blood vomits and she died hours later.

Also, in the Surgical Cynical hospital in the Highway of the Hut, in a-3 room one is entered in critical state product of Mirtha dengue Perez Sanchez, of 55 years of age and neighbor of Avenue 407 Pujol ½, Glad Vista Distribution in this city.

The health authorities are incapable to control the dengue epidemic, the resources are scarce and the sanitary infrastructure is very aggravated. The plague of mosquitos seems uncontrollable and to it the appearance of other diseases is added to him that could become another epidemic, like paperas, of which several cases have been reported.

The past 5 of August appeared several cases of paperas in the Dark-brown Saturnine provincial hospital. The doctor who was of guard in urgencies showed that practically all the patients were young between 17 and 20 years of age, since when they were born not she was applying vaccines of immunization against paperas.
