To: U.S. Government Authorities From: Cuban Civilian-Rural Development Project
We hereby recommend to the President of the United States of America, Mr. George W. Bush, Congress, Democrat and presidential Republican candidates, the organizations constituting the Project of Cuban Rural Civic Development (National Alliance of Independent Agriculturists of Cuba, Training center and Agricultural Investigations of Cuba, Latin American Bund of Rural Women - FLAMUR, and Union of Rural Young people) to take all necessary executive and legislative measures in order to allow the civil Cuban people and the institutions representing them, to participate on all trade activities affecting to their well being. We clearly understand the sovereign right of the United States of America with respect to its financial decision to duly select its and TRADING partners, but we also believe that private enterprise you have, ace well, the same right when it you eat to the participation in our free market and economic system. In this regard, we respectfully solicit that the Cuban private sector, agricultural or AT least the one, sees considered when assessing the benefits arising out of the agricultural product salts agreements between the governments of the United States of America and Cuba, and having such arrangements conditioned to the consent or endorsement of the private Cuban producers.
