SANTIAGO OF CUBA, 23 of September of 2008 (Juan Carlos Hernandez www.miamiprogressive.com) A commission in order to maintain a monitoring permanent of the social conditions of the population was created east Tuesday in the santiaguera capital, taking into account the lack from governmental attention to the social situations criticisms as it were possible to be demonstrated to the passage of the hurricanes Ike and Gustav. The commission integrated by representatives of different organizations of the political opposition and the civil society must as objective assess the damage caused by any type of natural disaster, identify the victims and manage and to canalize the resources, including humanitarian aid if thus it were the case. Besides the raised previous objectives, the commission will be able to intercede before any type discrimination that entails to the social marginalization of vÃctmas or its relatives, by political, religious questions or of race.
The commission will begin its work with a social rise and its respective documentation from the victims of recent hurricanes, so that their cases are not without answers and are of the public knowledge and the authorities.
