SANTIAGO OF CUBA, 23 of April, 2009 - I have received by means of electronic mail the public denunciation of this German citizen, who also is our compatriot and of Santiago of Cuba, beside the point. I want to share with our readers this dramatic situation and to reiterate him, that our site has open its doors for all those that they need the freedom to express, those that others deny to them.

He would want that they published a fact to me that has happened to me and that happens on a daily basis with absolute impunity in our country.
I have been Cuban, of Santiago of Cuba, resident for 20 years in Germany and have had an embarrassing incident that desire that is published in this newspaper, we read since it thousand of Cuban residents in the outside.

I have sent this letter to newspapers, Granma and Rebellious Juventud, but I know that they are not going it to publish, for that reason the shipment to you, that they will do if it.

The 10 of February 2009 I sent to Cuba a package of 10 kilograms via DHL (normal correspondence), that the 13 of February to 3 days already only were in Havana, to 12 and 59 minutes, according to information of the mail of Germany, only contained new clothes for my mother and my brother, When taking 2 months without to my received it family, I decided to demand it in the post office from I sent where it, because here the shipment plus the insurance costs, so that it arrives in good state at the family and without lost from articles, much money.

But, which was my surprise?

They yesterday give back the package to me that was in Havana; everything destroyed with some stained fat clothes of car and in Havana had put him a label to the box that said: IT NEEDS THE CONSULAR INVOICE.

Up to here I agree, because it did not have the information that it had to buy in my consulate a called paper “invoices consular� with a value of 125 Euros, to be able to send the package.

The nonnegotiable ridiculous situation and of this is that if does not take the required documentation they could send to a mail to the relatives asking to them this document to do the delivery to him, but what they do is abrir the package, to remove articles to them like:

2 wristwatches, of woman, 3 USB of 4 GB with photos of the family, 2 pairs of lady shoes, 3 music CD, 12 Blúmer (6 of jersey and 6 of cotton) and a small MP3 of music. Soon they send it to me from return to Germany with remaining articles. 

when arriving the package door I must return to by all means pay an amount of shipment from Cuba to Germany and to the moment so that they carry out the delivery to me of my package. It is the lack of respect and of consideration to the public and the familiar feeling, the humanitarian values are had lost.

Companions, this situation is unbearable and embarrassing for the image of Cuba in the outside, because here when you are going to be the claim, first that says to you it is: Lady this is normal in Cuba, on a daily basis we have thousand of claims of losses and article robberies in the packages. Cuba does not take measures, nor compensates to the harmed ones. This has been 50 years happening, that we can say to him to you.

The workers of this company of the center of distribution of Havana must of knowledge that the one that sends a paquetico to its family is not because he is millionaire, has had to save much money to buy articles and the payment of this shipment. I especially, nonwork by disease, have a tumor in the head that not even I can take an airplane to visit mother and of the money that collection by disease, I make east miracle to help family, since I do not have money so that they visit to me, we are of a pueblecito of Santiago of Cuba

I hope that this message is published to bring back to consciousness to these delinquents and to in one go end these misdeeds and that take drastic measures yet the personnel because the one that sees does not speak not to have problems and others however receive compensation of the booty, to maintain the business and impunity. I want to trust the honesty of this newspaper for the publication of this of complaint, so that done like that they happen on a daily basis, are not unpunished.

Thank you very much beforehand, and I hope that the Cubans we pruned to express in our press complaints and suggestions, altar that the problems are solved and others are eradicated. I hope to read this letter and to receive an encouraging answer.
