They sign “Declaration of Santiago�. November 30 of the 21st century
Five nonGovernmental Organizations reunited to this weekend in center of Conventions Jose Maria Heredia of this city, signed the Declaration of Santiago, a document that jeopardizes the nongovernmental organizations to work in the social projects, without ideological commitments, nor partisan politicians.
The five organizations who the past had their beginnings during the confrontation with regime of Fidel Castro, said that this step was fundamental, since within a democratic process also the social fight is made necessary and that this space cannot be given to the groups or movements to him of left, as until now erroneously has been interpreted, because already in Cuba we had sufficient experience of this, indicated to the leader of the greater organization farmer of the country.
Between the reunited organizations were representations of the women, young people, technicians and professionals and of farmers. Also union leaders were, of the calls independent unions during the Castro regime.
Between the propose initiatives they are:
a) To occupy the international space that formerly occupied the governmental organizations pro of the previous regime.
b) To promote the restoration of organizations and foundations of cuts social that worry about the different cases and social profiles, like Liga against the Asthma and other diseases like the cancer, AIDS and whichever institutions the society demands in its structure and development.
c) Concientizar to the population, the social and enterprise organizations whom of its interaction, true social justice depends, which they must be freed to the governments of that responsibility to avoid that its excess of being able is justified with the interference and the coercion of the liberties you publish including economic independence.
d) The Civil Society is not ideology patrimony some and must be the more important social weave of the country, to resist the political interests and of groups, that can put in danger the real democracy.
e) Between than 20 points approved the more in the Declaration of Santiago the one stands out by its importance that talks about to the consultative participation of NGO' s national for the taking of legislative and governmental decisions.
At the end of the meeting a reminder to the martyrs became of the 30 of November of 1956 and a formal request to the competent authorities became so that they were including between the victims of the castrismo. |
